Horizontal septic tanks

Our CE accredited horizontal septic tanks are manufactured by Marsh and available in a wide range of capacities – right up to 20,000 litres. This tank will provide settlement and a degree of treatment but not full treatment. Therefore, the effluent must undergo further biological treatment before it is safe to discharge into the environment.

You can extend the life of a drainage field by adding a Polylok filter.

This product is tested to BSEN12566:1 and CE-marked  and is fully compliant with 2020 regulations. It boasts 99.63 per cent hydraulic efficiency and has a heavy-duty shell . Easy on-site handling and supplied with a pedestrian cover. Simple, effective solution for a wide range of needs. This septic tank range relies on anaerobic digestion to part-treat the wastewater.

Operating principle

Normally the simplest and most economical means of treating wastewater from small developments, a septic tank holds sewage and allows solids to settle into sludge at the bottom of the tank. Here it is naturally broken down by a process known as anaerobic digestion, which provides settlement and some biological treatment. The effluent is not fully treated and must receive additional treatment before discharge to the water environment – the most common method being to spread the effluent to land via an underground drainage field.
