We recommend our cesspools if you have your sewage removed by a mobile transportation facility. You cannot empty this tank yourself as it has no outlet for discharge.
We advise our customers that cesspools are not permitted for domestic use in Scotland. In England, the discharge of untreated effluent into waterways is not permitted. In fact, from January 1, 2020 homeowners will need to have either a packaged sewage treatment plant or be connected to a mains sewer. If you don’t live close to a waterway, have your raw sewage removed and taken away by road, a cesspool may still be a good option. If you are not sure if a domestic cesspool is suitable for your site, contact a member of our technical team for no obligation advice. A cesspool should not be confused with a septic tank. The main difference is that a cesspool has no soakaway and delivers no treatment to wastewater.
