We recommend Marsh Hydroil™ Bypass separators for low risk environments, such as roads, car parks, business parks and sustainable drainage systems. This product is manufactured from robust pure resin and meets BS EN858 parts 1&2. Manufactured by Marsh, it is highly efficient and cost-effective.

This product will ‘treat’ 10 per cent at peak flow. It delivers a way for high rainfall flows to bypass the main separation chamber. The separator benefits from an oil skimmer plate and coalesce. It has an access turret for easy maintenance and servicing. Other features include a level alarm dip pipe and an air vent. To determine the number of separators your site will require, refer to BS EN858 parts 1&2.

The corrosion-resistant tank for this product is supplied with a 25-year manufacturer’s guarantee. However, the manufacturer states a design life of half a century.

Operating Principle

Marsh Hydroil bypass separators are designed to treat 10% of peak flow.

The drainage areas served by each separator are determined in accordance with both BS EN858 parts 1&2, but also with reference to a formula provided by the Environment Agency, where NSB=0.0018xA (catchment area in m2). Flows from higher rainfall rates are allowed to bypass the main separation chamber.
