We are a supplier of the unique, game-changing Marsh Industries’ Uni:Gem®. This is the septic tank conversion unit that goes beyond excellent. It surpasses EN12566-3 / EN12566-6 standards and complies with 2020 General Binding Rules applicable to septic tanks and small PSTPs designed for domestic use. It is a quick, economical solution for those with limited space, time and money to install a fully functioning PSTP before regulations change.
How it works: waste in a current PSTP or sceptic tank is transferred to the conversion unit where the Uni:Gem® has an aeration chamber. In this chamber, the effluent is treated. The effective process eliminates dissolved components in the waste. The process uses aerobic bacteria, in addition to fluid media and diffused air, to achieve total treatment – in advance of the effluent passing into a final chamber ahead of being discharged.
The general process, from the current septic tank all the way to the manway access, means you can use the Uni:Gem®to turn a contaminating septic tank into a sewage treatment plant – all without the need to dismantle and dispose of the existing tank, and without the hassle of having to develop new drainage.
This advanced unit, available in vertical as well as horizontal models, is completely compliant with legal requirements and benefits from the CE mark. It discharges effluent that more than meets British Standards. We recommend it for use 12 months of the year and on any type of ground settings.
It is a good solution if you are stuck for space or want to convert your current septic tank with very little disruption.

Turn your septic tank into a sewage treatment plant
The Uni:Gem® is simply installed to the rear of a current septic tank. Because of its high-performance, the clear effluent is safe to be discharged – even into a river. Many of our customers also use this conversion unit for discharges into watercourses or ditches. While the septic tank has been commonly used for decades, they are no longer considered to be suitable for treating sewage. New standards, designed to better protect the environment, mean regulations have been tightened. In fact, if you are currently using a septic tank and discharging effluent into the natural environment, you will need to take action to meet standards before the start of 2020.
Currently, the Uni:Gem®is the only product of its kind on the market capable of treating waste directly from a septic tank – without the need for major upheaval or investment. This is the conversion unit that was tested with a 900-litre daily flow for almost nine months. It was put through its paces at an accredited testing facility in Germany.
We recommend this product if you are looking for a robust but cost-effective solution to the changing legislative landscape. It is easy to handle and the perfect solution to a pressing problem.

Operating principle
Effluent from the existing septic tank or sewage treatment plant is transferred to the Uni:Gem unit and enters the aeration chamber where it is treated to remove dissolved constituents. Here aerobic bacteria, supported by diffused air and mobile media, ensures full treatment is achieved before the treated effluent (and ‘sloughed off’ bacteria) flows to a final settlement chamber prior to discharge.
